Manager in Training supports the retail store in most facets of retail operations, including assisting customers through effective salesmanship skills. Other duties include: ringing up sales in the register, water analysis, mechanical repairs, unloading trucks, stocking shelves, carrying merchandise to customers’ cars, and cleaning the store. Must have a positive, upbeat attitude, must be motivated to sell, and be excellent at wanting to please people.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must possess a High School Diploma (or equivalent) or currently be enrolled in High School
  • Must also be able to provide exceptional customer service support
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Prior sales experience

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Meet the needs of customers

  • Greet customers warmly upon their arrival in the store
  • Recommend improvements for greater efficiency and effectiveness
  • Service customers properly on the telephone
  • Provide the customers with accurate information and solutions on the use and application of products sold
  • Able to get leads and follow‐up appropriately
  • Ensure timely collection of service fees
  • Be knowledgeable of all products, current sales promotions, and ad campaigns
  • Utilize good judgment to satisfy the needs of the customers
  • Conduct routine water analysis for customers and use other related software to assure proper application of pool/spa chemicals by the customer
  • follow-up with customers with any communication necessary to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Accurate processing of POS transactions to insure accurate inventory and cash drawers daily
  • Pick orders for customers and process per established procedures
  • Carry customer products to their vehicles
  • Bill service clients, check for accurate chemical and contract billing and compliance on service forms
  • Address customer problems
  • Bid repair jobs and sell equipment
  • Answer phones and set appointments
  • Any other administrative assignments as directed

Inventory Management

  • Place orders for the store and service department
  • Receive orders and ensure accurate inventory
  • Inventory store at the end of every month and create list of any discrepancies
  • Make recommendations for reorders and assess good selling v. slow selling products

Store Stocking, Marketing , and Displays

  • Responsible for overall “look” of the store
  • Assure store is visibly appealing from all directions
  • Change out product based on seasons

Maintain a safe, clean work environment

  • Housekeeping of store daily (clean, dust, vacuum, break down boxes and take out trash)
  • Restocking of product in the store (following safe product handling and storage practices)
  • Communicate timely to owners/managers any area of need, dispute or idea for improving the operation of the service department
