Are you looking for a space to relax and get some sun while still being refreshed in the water? Possibly a place for the kids to sit and splash while the big kids play in the deeper part of the pool? Want a place to put your chaise lounger and table in the water and sip a cool drink at your leisure? Maybe a pool with a tanning ledge is the perfect option for you. Tanning ledges, also commonly called a sun shelf, or baja shelf, is the place to be for more lounging and less swimming. Keep in mind before purchasing your pool to plan ahead for the use of your sunshelf. Will you have bubblers in it with no chaise loungers? Will you want a specific number of chairs to fit on your sun ledge? Will you need space for a table for your drink? Or will you just keep the area free and clear to sit cross legged and play with your babies or grand babies? Here are three of our favorite fiberglass pools with ledges. These pools were installed in and around the Raleigh, NC area by Parrot Bay Pools.

Fiberglass Pool M 35 with Built-in Tanning Ledge

Enough space for two loungers, and a small table, cuddle up! The M35 includes a ledge but it only goes partially across the pool, so you still get full use of a swim lane.

FIberglass Pool D 32 with Built-in Tanning Ledge

Plenty of room for two chaise loungers, and a table. Plan bubbler placement accordingly with chaise loungers. Think about if you want chaise loungers centered or your bubblers. Many clients do not add bubblers if they are using loungers on the ledge.
