Before you purchase an above ground pool we suggest you do your homework. It is your job as the homeowner to check with local regulations and your Home Owners Association to see if you are permitted to have an above ground pool. You want to find out what permits are required and if there are any zoning regulations. Parrot Bay Pools and Spas and your Pool Installer are NOT responsible for any permits or zoning regulations.
The placement of your above ground pool should be based on available space, obstacles and safety. You should never place a pool under overhead electrical lines, and allow a minimum of 3 feet between the pool and other structures. Select level ground with no underground lines, septic tanks, wells, stumps, debris or tree roots (which could push up through the pool floor liner).
Above ground pools come in a variety of sizes in both round and oval. Round pools tend to offer a larger swimming area with a lower price than oval pools. This is because many oval pools require additional bracing (or buttresses) to maintain the pools shape. Your backyard size may determine which pool shape is right for you. Parrot Bay Pools and Spas offers Round pools in 18, 21, 24 (most common size), 27, 30 or 33 feet and Oval pools in 15×30 or 18×33 feet.

Steel – XL 7000: The walls, ledges, verticals, rails, top and bottom plates are made of steel. This is not recommended for salt water pools due to corrosion.
Hybrid – Serenade or Tavernier: This pool has both steel and resin parts. The walls, ledges, verticals, rails, top and bottom plates are made of galvanized steel. While the top and bottom covers are made of resin.
Resin – Mystic II: The ledges, verticals, rails, top and bottom plates are made of resin. Resin is a heavy-duty plastic that is not susceptible to corrosion. The walls of a resin pool are galvanized steel, reinforced with layers or protective coating.
At Parrot Bay Pools and Spas we use GLI Vinyl Pool Liners.
Overlap Liner: Installed by overlapping the liner on the pool wall. Plastic coping strips are placed on top to hold the liner in place.
Unibead Liner: The unibead liner, short for universal, has a thick piece of vinyl at the top that is shaped like a “U”. It is designed to attach or hook to the top of the wall so the rest of the liner hangs down.
Pentair Dynamo Aboveground Pool Pump: Designed for maximum performance and economy in an aboveground swimming pool pump. The dynamo offers quiet, efficient and super-reliable performance.
Pentair Sand Dollar Top Mount Filter: The most compact and affordable option to filter an above ground pool. Sand Filters use specially designed Pool Filter Sand to remove dirt and debris as water pushes through the system, returning clean water into the pool.
Chlorine: The traditional standard to clean and disinfect pool water from germs, bacteria and algae. Chlorine tablets are dispersed into either an external chemical feeder that’s installed near your pool equipment or an in-pool floating disbursement device.
Salt: A chlorine generator is used to dissolve salt to produce chlorine. This means that the pool water is not chlorine free. The same levels of chlorine are needed to maintain a pool using a chlorine generator as a pool using chlorine tablets. The difference is that salt pools tend to provide a softer feel on the skin due to the salt in the water.
Pristine Blue: A non-chlorine water system. Pristine Blue is gentle on the skin and eyes, and is safe to swim in right after application.
